Although A Short Period of Time, Pi Kapp Remains Monumental

Looking back upon his time as a Pi Kappa Phi brother, Harry Barfoot ‘77 emphasized that the fraternity remains important to him over the years because of the lifelong friendships he made.

“Despite being a relatively short period of time, those years living with a group of guys under one roof at 409 East Fairmount Avenue are some of the most memorable. To this day, we still get together socially and enjoy sharing this history,” he said. Among many great memories, a weekend ski trip to Blue Knob stands out, with a large group of guys packed into one ski chalet. Living with 45+ other men – each with different perspectives, ideas, backgrounds, and interests – taught him and his brothers that they could accomplish a great deal when prioritizing the interests of the group over the interests of a single individual.

In Town For Homecoming With A Sweet Tooth?

In Town For Homecoming With A Sweet Tooth?Penn State Football fans will want a scoop of Berkey Creamery's newest flavor - "White Out." The popcorn flavored ice cream with white chocolate chips pays homage to the Penn State tradition of wearing white at designated home football games. The next White Out is Sept. 29 against Ohio State.  "'White Out' has become a huge Penn State Athletics tradition, so it only made sense for us to help promote and complement their efforts," said Jim Brown, the Creamery's assistant manager, in a press statement. "We think this new flavor is going to be a touchdown with fans." The flavor is scooped at the Creamery and also sells in half-gallon containers and three-gallon tubs for purchase. The flavor is described as the perfect balance of  sweet and salty.

In Adversity, Pi Kapp Shows Leadership Learned at 409 E. FairmountJoe Paterno once said "The good news is that we have the money, the bad news is that the money is in your pockets." 990 Active Alumni are in our database. 38 have given to our recolonization effort at Penn State - the 409 Club. If each of the remaining 952 Alpha Mus stepped up with a gift of $409 or more, the results would be astounding, approaching 390K. Now, we realize this number is very, very lofty. However, our goal is only 125K. We've raised over 38K toward that, leaving 87K left to be raised. of our 990 Brothers, we would need 212 Brothers to step up with a gift of $409 or more. Those 212 coupled with the 38 who have already pledged their allegiance. would equal only 250 Brothers. Please read on and consider why your participation is paramount.
